AdultFriendFinder - Credit card charged 3 times, cannot log in, no response from AFF
Unbelievable experience. I created an account (against my better judgement) and paid for my membership.
When I tried to log in for the first time I was sent an email saying my account had been frozen due to "activity". That's it, just "activity". I received a second email saying my card was denied because of a generic billing issue. My credit card has been charged THREE TIMES for over $500.
I called customer service immediately and waited on hold for 20+ minutes only to be greeted by an annoyed representative. She demanded my full name, my login information, my account password and my date of birth. I said I wasn't comfortable giving her my password, among other things. She said that was the only way she could cancel my account -- to log in as me and cancel it.
Aside from the fact that I still have not been able to log in, that can't possibly be the way the close customer accounts.
I've been calling and emailing various departments at AFF and received a response from their Risk Management department. I was told to fax in a clear copy of my drivers license and both sides of my credit card. How on earth can that be legit?? At first I was frustrated with this entire thing but now I'm just getting upset.
I simply can't believe that it's necessary to provide my password, my identification and BOTH sides of my credit card. Am I the only one that thinks this is a little fishy?? I will forever stay away from this entire family of sites. Definitely not worth the price of being a little curiosity.
